Transfer options or chances

Graduated Scarsdale High school 2008 with a GPA of 2.97. No sports but did community service as a member of the A/V club in which I would tape sporting events and board meetings for Scarsdale's local cable channel. Took the SAT and got a 1680 but I'm not sending that in. I got a 30 on the ACT with a 35 on the science section and an 8 on the writing.

I'm currently at Ithaca College. My dream major is to do film, and my top choices were NYU, IC, RIT, and Fordam. i got accepted into all except for NYU. I'm a freshman at IC and I feel I could do better. I dont think the education im reciveing is really worth the price so Im looking to trasnfer. I'm not sure if I have a good shot for this Fall '09 but i'm applying to these schools anyway and will apply again for '10 if I dont make my top choices.

Cornell for Fine arts or architecture
NYU Tisch for film
Carnige Mellon for Architecture
Cooper Union for Architecture
University of Virginia for Architecture
Dartmouth for Film and media studies
Suny Purchase for Film
Fordam for Business
Syracuse University for the New House School

Would anyone like to chance me please? Or have suggestions on where to apply or what year? what I could do to improve my chances? I have a portfolio but it mainly consists of 3D work and digital photography, graphic design. No drawings yet, or any physical mediums.

From what I've read on this board about transferring after your freshmen year (which is something I'm looking into as well so I might not have everything correct), admissions is largely dependent on your high school record. Not really familiar with Cooper Union, but with the rest of your list, the only ones I think you might have a shot are are SUNY Purchase, Fordham (I'm assuming you meant Fordham anyways), and Syracuse.

You don't mention college grades and accomplishments and any new scores, with something special, anything can happen! In general though, you're unlikely to get into any college as a soph you could not have gotten into as a freshman.

well I have a 4.0 at IC. Im on 1 Tv show and do the cooking club. and next semester im taking 18 credits of all studio art classes.

Taking all studio art will be an issue for a non art major and at academic schools like Dartmouth which need to see a track record of your doing well in tough academic classes.

You have a shot at NYU but I'm pretty confident you'd wind up in general studies and then have to work your way into Tisch
