For people who went to the 23rd/24th, any suggestions? What did ya'll do? Do we really spend the WHOLE day and half listening to things that need to be listened to? I don't want to waste my time...

Also, how do you look up professors that are currently at the university? I know what classes I'm supposed to be taking (all sciences and math) so I don't want impossible professors. :/ But I also want to be able to register right away with my list of classes/profs ready. If I looked up at MyEdu or Ratemyprof, it would give me endless names of professors who probably aren't even at the university anymore teaching.

Myedu makes it REALLY easy to check on professors for the current semester. This link I’ll give you should take you directly to UT professors who are scheduled to teach for the fall 2011 semester only. Notice on the right side screen the box that says “filter by term”.

[All UT Professors | UT | Department List | MyEdu](http://www.myedu.com/UT-The-University-of-Texas-at-Austin/school/s/2719/departments/?prof=1&term=2011%2C1946)

Start at the course schedule and your degree plan to find classes that interest you + ones you need. From there check the professors teaching that course to determine if that’s the one you want.

Also, use this website from the university:

Between the Course Instructor Survey results and myedu I have had a very easy time picking great professors.

In regards to orientation. The only part that is really important is the advising session. I was only at orientation events from 12-3 PM. After that I did some individual advising sessions, registered, then went home.

Oh wow, thanks! And were you only there for one day?

You can search for classes there.
