Transfer Orientation

Hey guys, I am going to attending my transfer orientation soon. I was wondering about what I should expect from it; in terms of length, should I bring anything (transfer credit report, etc.), and how will I be going about picking my classes?

also:

Have any transfer students been given a dorm?
If not where are you staying?

Thanks For Reading This and For All Replies

Had mine the 25th of July. Bring a pen and pencil if you would like to take notes or can think of any questions to ask so you don’t forget them.

Before you go into the program welcome & Intro presentation you check in and they give you a binder with lots of information. This was also when we were told that there is no housing option in dorms for transfer students and that we should call the housing center to be get put on a waiting list but dont even remotely count on that happening (im #250 on the waiting list) and to start looking for an alternative solution.

At 9:15 your allowed to be seated and at 9:30 the presentation starts, which roughly went on for 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 hours. then specific advising groups are called out based on what field your going into, and your taken to your next presentation which a quick 20 min type thing where they hand out a Darwin report with every class/ credit you need to get your degree. then your called into a smaller group to meet with your actually adviser who sets up classes and what not, my group had 4 people in it and i only had to wait 30 minutes for her and I was the 4th in the group, one group I saw had to have at least 30 kids if not 50 and they were probably gonna be there a while. my adviser also gave me a list of classes with some circled that she thought i should take.

At about one we went to the student center to talk to financial aid which took about ten minutes. Besides the optional financial aid session there is math/english/forign laungage placements tests if you need them starting at 1:30.

Hope that helps out.
