Schools I'm considering applying to:
USC (Visual Anthropology)
UNC-CH (Communications Studies...i think)
Brown (Modern Culture & Media)
Columbia (French & Film Studies)
Pitzer (Media Studies & French)
Claremont McKenna (Film Studies & French)
Scripps (Media Studies & French)
BU (deciding between COM &CAS)
NYU Gallatin (internal transfer)

and by transfering... i meant transferring

At this point they should ignore your SAT scores and focus on your grades and accomplishments.

Based upon this, the only tough ones will be the two Ivies (Columbia and Brown). I would expect you to get into both, though. (but you chose a popular major (Media Studies) so that might make it difficult).

Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I never thought Media studies was a popular major at Brown (everyone I know who goes there is in bio or something like that).

I agree with Calcruzer. Ivies also accept few transfers since they have such high retention rates. If few leave, few can enter, and you can only imagine how spectacular those few would have to be.

Ok Reworked the college list:
Brown-MCM-Semiotics-French
USC-Visual Anthropology/Communications Studies
Scripps- Anthropology/Media Studies
Pitzer- Anthropology/ Media Studies
Columbia-Anthropology/Film Studies (not sure about this)
Gallatin
Northwestern-Writing/Anthropology plus film minor

Chances at these schools?

bump.. .please read note at bottom.

Please re-evaluate
