Hi everyone, I just wanted thoughts on my chances of admissions of transferring.
I'm currently a freshman at Stony Brook University, and I'm applying to transfer to NYU Stern, UPenn Wharton, and Columbia.
I did not apply to any of the above schools during my senior year in high school, because my average was quite low (88/100).
Anyways here's my most recent statistics:
SAT score:
690(R) 710 (W) 800 (M)
GPA at Stony Brook University- 3.95 (only A- was in WRT102 course)
Currently in the Business Leaders Program and taking 21 credits
Got invitations [and accepted] Sigma Beta Honor Society, and National Society of Collegiate Scholars
Am I forgetting something?
I just wanted to hear your thoughts on my chances of getting in thanks in advance!

Your high school GPA is extremely low for applying to these schools. Wharton is extremely competitive. Kids transferring into Wharton generally come from similar caliber business programs. Since you are applying to transfer into these schools as a sophomore, you will be scrutinized for your low high school GPA. Your SAT score is solid, which might help you gain admissions into Stern, but I don’t know if your GPA will count against you. I can’t give you a definitive answer obviously, but looking at past stats for those students accepted into Wharton and Columbia as transfers, your numbers (specifically due to low HS GPA) don’t look too competitive.
You clearly worked hard this year though! Congrats on a solid GPA first semester! I would say if you are unsuccessful this year, but still wish to attend these schools and have a similar GPA then apply next year when schools won’t weigh your HS GPA as heavily. Good luck!
