I was denied by my first choice UT Austin, and I have to decide between UCR and UCSC. I don't see myself at either of them, and want to transfer out ASAP, hopefully sophomore year.

1.) How hard is it to transfer from UCSC or UCR to a private school (ie: Boston U, Northeastern, NYU or even UT Austin [I know UT is not private]?
2.) What kind of GPA will I need to get into any of these schools?
3.) Is it hard to transfer out of UCSC or UCR?
4.) Which school is easier to get a higher GPA? like 3.5+
5.) How many credits does the average freshmen earn during their sophomore year?

1.) It’s probably going to be harder to transfer than community college, as what neverneverland said. But it’s not impossible.
2.) I think you’ll need at least a 3.5 gpa to get into those private schools.
3.) Both
4.) I wouldn’t say either is easy. Admission this year was brutal. (60% acceptance rate in UCR and UCSC) But if you are willing to put some effort at either school, i think you’ll be fine. It also depends on your major (engineering and science classes are generally hard)
5.) no idea
