I'm thinking about transferring to UCI asap because I plan to major in Economics and pursue a career in the business field. However, since UCSD has a weak business community (esp. since the Big4 rarely recruit here]). I think I would have more opportunities if I went to UCI asap.

I am going to be in Warren College, and I have a crapload of GE's to complete, (12 which are PoC's). So, is it possible to transfer to Irvine after my first year without completing SD's GE's; because I plan to take courses at SD that would eliminate some of Irvine's GE's (which is very risky).

Does anyone know about UC lower division transfer without the completion of GE's?

Please help!!!!! Thanks :)

well, its not going to be easy. you have a lot of things going against you.
- you are a uc to uc transfer student and therefore not given priority.
- since you are going to be a first year transfer, you will have a lack of units and pre-reqs. compared to other students.
- uci business is competitive.
- lack of uc to uc reciprocity which is highly advantageous.

if you really want to do this i would recommend you load up on as many units as possible, get the best grades possible, and finish as many pre-reqs as possible including math and english. even so, it will still be hard. best of luck though.

you have better chance going to an ivy league. no joke.
