Hi! I'm a Freshman at the University of Missouri and i've decided to transfer on a number of counts. I am originally from Rochester, New York and am a major in business. Some of the schools i'm looking into are Tulane University, University of Richmond and NYU (long shot).

In my junior and senior year of high school i had a very rough time and had several bouts with viral pneumonia and during my senior year, a type of blood cancer. The have managed to rid me of cancer however my absences and grades, although i did graduate took an enormous hit from the illnesses and hospital visits. I graduated with a 2.67 GPA even with taking multiple and working extraordinarily hard. My ACT score was a 26 however i only was able to take it one time.

During high school i was a 3 year member of DECA and I was a two time state finalist, a 4 year member of Future Business leaders of america, part of the football, baseball, and volleyball teams for as long as i could and did a bunch of work for my temple (Maybe my being jewish will help me?)

For these applications i'm going to need to regurgitate the same story over and over however i'm hoping because all of them are private schools they might offer me an interview seeing as though that was my event in DECA (Job interview) and am very good at interviews, especially evaluative ones. My gpa here at Mizzou is a 4.0 however just that may not be enough to get me into any of those prestigious schools.

when i was growing up, my cousin who was going to the university of rochester at the time almost was like a brother to me and has just graduated from the stern school of business at NYU in finance for his MBA and works in the financial district there. He also is on the board of admissions for NYU and has given me an incredible recommendation in addition to the recommendations i've gotten from professors.

Both Richmond and Tulane are also extremely prestigious and will be extremely tough to get into as well. I would be overjoyed getting into any one of these schools.

Do any of you think i have any chance of getting into any of these schools? i'm very worried as i'm about to start the application process and don't want to go about this foolishly and get shut down almost immediately.

Thank you so much for you help and opinions!
