Are the placement tests necessary in say math even though you've completed 2nd year calculus at a CC. Even though I have completed 2nd year calc, will i need to take a placement test in math to say enroll in a general econ class(econ major requires math, packet says) Also what is the deal with foreign language for college of letter of arts and sciences. All students in letters of art and sciences need to take 3 semesters of foreign language? Lastly does Marshall make you take calc 2 again even though you completed it at a CC? Thank you.

I took AP calc BC and I just went to engineering and filled out a prereq waiver form for calc II (in order to get into calc III). I never took any placement test.

I would imagine it would be the same for you except you ask marshall instead of engineering. As long as the course substitution appears on your articulation form you should be OK without placement test.

BUT one note, the registration system is very stupid. You need to waive the calc II prereq (or any other prereq) for each course you register for which has that as a prereq - they can't just put in "waived calc II" into the system and have it automatically find out, they have to do it individually per course.

as for foreign lang, yes, you must either pass the 3rd semester class in a foreign language, or pass the placement test at the 3rd semester or above. The only students exempt for any foreign language are engineering students like me. :)
