Transfer Programs for Older, Non-Traditional Students

Is anyone familiar with Universities offering transfer programs that cater to working adults in degrees other than business? I am a single mother of three and I have a regular 8-5, Monday-Friday job that I cannot quit while going to school. I have no interest in an all online program, as I want an education, not just a degree. I cannot seem to find any programs that will allow me to take evening classes, finish in two years, and still maintain a reasonable work-life balance.

Any suggestions?

I think you will be limited in finding coursework during the evenings and completing your degree in 2 years, but maybe I’m wrong so you might want to double-check that. You are a single mother of three and things do come up; children, get sick and need ER appointments, they have evening programs and events at their schools where you have to attend but you will miss classes and labs.

My dd works full time and will be in a graduate program; she doesn’t support 3 children, but she has to take an online program because of her demanding work schedule. She’s not sure she can finish her program within a sufficient amount of time, but will try.

Its commendable that you want an education and I hope that it is possible for you to find an inexpensive university that can meet your requirements.

@mspinkie72,
UCLA has an “Extension” program whereby you take evening classes. Not sure if you can take all of the classes that you need to get a undergraduate degree though.
