Transfer quesition

Hi. I am a international transfer applicant for 2017 Fall. I am a currently student from WCC (SUNY). I want to know what will be my chance get into Stony Brook.I will graduate from WCC in this summer with a 3.3 GPA(in my application). However there is a F in my transcript (because when the first year I came to WCC and I changed my major but on that time I did not know I should drop those courses of my old major.so I just stopped going to class and finially I got a big F from that class) Actually I am doing well with my current major. I got most As and B+. so I just want to know is that F from my previous major will affect my application

Thank you

Good question. Honestly depends on what the F is in. If you’re applying as an engineering or natural science major, for example, and the F is in calc or physics or chem, then yes, that’s a big red flag. If it’s something that’s not as applicable, then it probably won’t impact as much.
