Hi guys, I have a question about second semster grades after you apply to transfer to a different school.

Currently I am interested in transferring to Gtown MSB from NYU CAS (freshman). I pulled off a 3.85 GPA the first semester, and I was wondering how a drop in my 2nd sem grades will affect me. It's not that I am not trying hard or anything, but it's just that the nature of the classes (writing the essay, calc) will be much tougher than last sem. do you get ur admissions revoked if they see that your second sem grades drop to like 3.3~3.6?

also, if you are a freshman, do they usually want to wait for second sem grades?

Any knowledge or experiences info will be a tremendois help!

First, good job on the great GPA!
Now, most colleges wont see your second semester grades until after you get accepted. They usually wont wait for your grades, unless youre really borderline, but I would assume they would do that only for thirdyear transfers (if you start college and go on an upwards trend, they might want to see it continue).
If your courses are getting much harder, then I would think that they expect a small grade drop. I doubt they will revoke it for a .2-.4 drop, because even with a 3.3, your cumGPA will still be around a 3.5, which is excellent. So, try to stay above a 3.0 for the next semester, and I think you should be fine. Aim for a 3.3 to be safe, but I doubt they will revoke your admission unless you go below a 3.0, but thats my guess. You might try calling (so you can remain unknown) and just asking "what if" and see what they say.

I'm sorta in the same situation in case I get deferred / accepted...

I'm thinking that I'd like to keep around a 0.2-0.4 within my cumu GPA. Anything lower and I'd be kind of worried myself. Then again, you go to a great school transferring to a great school. I'm doing a school jump up (decent to a great)
