Transfer question - how important are SAT scores?

Hello people of CC,

As the title says, how important are SAT scores in transfer admissions? I know this is a kind of silly question, because they are so unpredictable, but this has been eating at me. Would a math score hovering around 700 make me seem unqualified and kill my chances? Or, do they care mainly about what I've been doing in college, and what I would have to contribute? (I'm guessing the latter). I've seen some posts here and there from admits, and scores have only been about 750+. Or should I just get a good score on the math II subject test to counteract it?

I'm into AI research, and despite being a college freshman I'm already publishing. I'm doing just fine in class; I'm taking junior-level programming and physics classes. I do a lot of my own projects and experiments including--yolo--turning my car into a biofuel hybrid. I don't know what went wrong on the SAT; I think taking such a high-stakes test just got to me.

Thanks for any feedback. Sorry if you may have been annoyed by my worried nitpicking.
