what would be a decent GPA for OOS to transfer into the school of business? Should it be easier to transfer for sophomore year or junior year?

After reading that the average transfer GPA was a 3.61 I don't think my chances are too good bbuuttt I thought i'd ask anyways just to get some input from y'all.

I'm currently at Texas A&M University - CS and by the end of the semester i'll probably end up with something around a 3.2. Is there any chance of getting into UT say in the Liberal Arts college with a rough GPA around that? The reason I ask is because i've known people to transfer into UT with a GPA as low as 2.9...

Thansk for any help!

I dunno, but I even read about someone who got rejected with a 3.8 from TTech a few years ago, so it's always possible. However, if this is your first year, it might be more advantageous to bring the GPA up and apply next year.

My situation is this, after a year and a half at a small school in California, I will now be attending a community college in California. At my previous school I got a 3.5. I am switching my major from history to business so I have a lot of prereqs to take. Would it be best for me to go to a Texas cc for a year and then try to transfer to UT? Would they not look at me because of all the credits I have? I would really appreciate any information. Thank you.

I went to a cc before I went to UT and I think that it's a bad idea. Sure it saves you some money, but I had a problem with prereqs and there is no guarantee that UT will accept your credits from a cc. If you get all of the easy stuff out of the way you are left with a bunch of really tough classes all at once. I would just go straight to UT.
