i know this sounds dumb, but does anyone know of anyone that was not accepted as a transfer by a school they were accepted as a freshman. I really am not sure what to do, i got into a bunch of top 15 schools and dont know how much security I need here...none are my top choice and I already go to a supposed top 15 school. so idk what to do. But i want the option to leave, but how much security do i need. These 3-4 places I got into as a freshman include

Rice, Chicago, and Northwestern, and i want to know if it is pretty routine and automatic for me to exepect an acceptance as a transfer

As long as you have a good/average GPA, then I think your pretty much in. It may also depend a lot on your essays, as you should probably explain why you rejected their school last year, and why you want to attend next year.

I will note that, while not accepted, I was waitlisted at Chicago as a freshman, and rejected as a transfer.

Even though that's not exactly what you're asking for, I thought I'd point out that you're going through the process again. That means they reevaluate you, see your new recommendations, consider your college work, and what you've been doing, just as if you'd never applied before. Can it help to have been accepted before? I imagine so, but only because you'll know you had then what they were looking for.

well waitlisted doesn't count as an acceptance beacuse some schools waitlist like 1/2 of their applicants, so that is not the same as being accepted. My being waitlisted by Wash U means nothing as they did that for almost every person applying.

if you apply as a sophomore transfer, do they only see your first semester grades from freshman year or do they wait to see all of your freshman year grades?
