Transfer Question...

Hello,

I have two questions:

1) I am currently a freshman about to start my spring semester. If I intend on applying to UPenn my sophomore year (2013-2014) so that hopefully I can attend my junior year (2014-2015), when should I get my recommendations? Should I ask the teachers I have in the fall semester of my sophomore year classes? Or the teachers I have this upcoming semester?

2) How do I politely ask for a recommendation? Email or in-person? I just want to make sure they won't talk badly and ruin any chance I have.

Can you take more than one class with the same professor? You should try to get at least one recommendation from a teacher who really knows your work and can talk about your potential, as well as your work ethic, intellect, and subject knowledge.

^Thanks.

Should I get a recommendation from a professor now (if I have one I feel can write a good one), or should I wait and get one from a professor during my sophomore?
