My friend wants to apply to the business school at Tech; however, he messed around and made a C in both Calc 1, 2 so his Math and science gpa is like a 2.9 or something. Anyway, is it required to have a 3.0 in your math and sciences or is it just recommended to be completive?
Thanks!

I think they mean: If the applicant doesn’t reach the minimun gpa, it’s very unlikely that he will finally be accepted. If you ask them, they probably won’t tell you that they will definitely reject him. You can send an email to the admission office and ask them. I also have problems with one of my english composition course. But I’ll still wait and see the result anyway.

I would think it would vary from person to person on whether they strictly enforce that requirement or not. I believe they consider your full course load taken. I would guess that the requirement is listed solely to filter out some of the applications of people they would obviously not accept.

yellowjacket1, Transfer admission at Georgia Tech has gotten quite rigorous over the years. If a student does not meet any of the basic requirements their application will not be considered because of the vast number of applicants who do meet the requirements. Admissions takes all requirements seriously and even if one is not met then your application will be denied. For transfers i am aware that the GPA minimum varies from 3.0 to 3.3 for various majors. However, if you transfer in without the RETP or TAG program your application will be compared competitively. The average for competitive transfer students is a 3.7
