I am planning on applying to a few competitive universities and I have a pretty good GPA overall, but I recieved a B in micro economics and I am worried that a B in a critical coarse like micro might hurt my chances. I figure an important class like micro you should have an A, but I just wanted some feedback from other people.

Edit: I am currently attending a community college in cali, and by "competitive universities" I had haas and ross in mind.

What matters is your overall GPA, and how tough the courses are you have been taking so far (and if you've been taking pre-business mixed with your general ed requirements).

Good luck with Haas and Ross (Berkeley and Michigan for those not familiar). Two good choices, I'd say.

So I know it is mostly my overall GPA that affects my chances, but do they look at my record to see what grades I recieved in core business classes? And if they do, will a B in a critical cource like microecon hurt my chances?
