I am planning on transferring to Stony Brook for Spring 2015 and my GPA is around a 3.5-3.6 with 31 credits. What would happen if I was accepted in to the college, but withdrew from a course? Will my acceptance be rescinded?

Good question. Probably not, no. If you fail the course (or multiple courses) and your GPA drops significantly, then that could cause issues, but if it’s just one withdrawal, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Hi Chris. Is applying as a business major less competitive than people going for pre med/bio? I will be applying this winter and I’m very curious. Thanks in advance

No, not particularly. It’s strongly preferred if you have calc already either way, though.

I am taking pre calc and physics right now… but I have an internship under my belt. Also, is volunteering in the SBU hospital an advantage for getting admitted?

Precalc is good. Transfer admissions decisions for most programs are largely academic, so the interning/volunteer stuff doesn’t come up as much. It will for grad programs, though.

I am a transfer, they did not give me housing.Even if you have it, it is crowded. Their class registration is broken. And their orientation organization is a monkey event. Consider that before you accept your acceptance.
