Transfer Question

I am considering transferring to Boston College from a smaller catholic school in New England (similar to Fairfield or Providence College), would I be better off with a marketing degree from my current school or a communications degree from Boston college? If I am interested in working in a marketing/communications career, am I better off with a business degree from a less prestigious school or a A/S Communications degree from BC?

To pursue a business degree, you would have to apply as a transfer to CSOM. Getting into CSOM as a transfer student is not impossible but improbable. Yes, transfer do get in, but only a handful of the hundreds who apply. As a intra school transfer student, BC holds a lottery and usually on 10 spots are of offered.

Its important to note that CSOM has minors now, and the minor program takes the EXACT same amount of marketing class as marketing “majors” since their major is really just a concentration. That being said you wouldn’t take the classes in the business core. I’d recommend applying, but its really hard recently- you’d need around a 3.8 because recent years have been more competitive. The website says 3.6, but as a transfer I know for a fact that’s not true.
