In the Early Alternative application pool for transfers, does the admissions committee only review first semester grades?

I want an early decision; however, I am worried that my first semester grades are too low for acceptance, and it would therefore behoove of me to raise my GPA next semester and apply Regular Notification where I assume that they look at both semesters.

college GPA: 3.58 from Emory University after one semester
high school GPA/rank: 4.5w 3.8uw, 15/~450
SAT: 1350
extra: UChicago was first choice when I applied last year, but I was waitlisted.

EA is Early Action, or in U of C parlance, EN, Early Notification. One applies in early Nov. and gets a decision mid December. It is not binding at U of C and one can apply EA to other schools as well (or ED, which is binding).

I think the OP is referring to an early action program for transfers. I don't know when the apps are due -- maybe Feb. 1? Or is it March 1? In any case, a month or so before the regular deadline.
