i know bu doesn’t require i midyear report for transfers, but would it help to send one anyway?

last semester i completed 23 units with a 3.6 gpa. my high school gpa and test scores, however, are less that impressive. because i’m applying for a sophomore transfer, i’m worried that my high school record will hurt my chances. currently i’m taking five upper division classes as a freshman and doing really well (straight A’s after midterms). would it be advisable to send a midyear report? my concern is that it would create more work for the admissions officers, and as bu receives over 2,000 transfer applications, i’m hesitant to increase their load.

any advice? thanks.

By midyear report, you mean your high school transcript? If so, then yes, BU requires a final official high school transcript of all transfer students and the application is not complete until that credential is received. Seeing as the deadline was April 1st for all transfer applications and credentials, I suggest you immediately call BU with any questions you have because there really isn't any time left.

whoops, i guess i should have re-worded that. mid-SEMESTER report.

i sent in my app about two weeks ago and was just wondering if my current midsemester grades would help my chances.

Any good grades cannot hurt you. I sent in a few things that are not required of transfer students just in case because I know they can only help me. I sent in an extra teacher rec, a seperate activity sheet, and a copy of an award I had won. Technically, none of these are considered but it was worth sending. So yes, I'd def send those grades if they are good and will help your chances of getting in. Just make sure to send it as fast as possible
