Transfer Question

I just graduated high school and am attending SUNY Stony Brook in the fall, but I am already thinking about transferring. Ideally, I want to go to Cornell but I'm not so sure that my high school record or SAT scores will be good enough, as they follow you if you try to transfer for sophomore year.

I had an 83 gpa (let's just say I had a pretty rough high school life), however I did take AP classes, mostly honors classes and lots of electives through out the years.
My SAT scores were:
620 critical reading
620 writing
540 math

I realize the math is pretty low, and the others aren't exactly amazing, but I'm hoping that doing extremely well at Stony Brook will improve my chances.

What do you think?

just do as good as you can at SUNY, enjoy your time there and exploit all possible academic opportunities, and apply for transfer if grades permit (or don't, if you love the place :)). /end captain obvious.

what you could do is apply transfer sophomore to some schools, then junior to different ones. Helluwalot of work though, but you'd be a champ in essay writing..
redoing the SAT in october after you start college is possible, and is something you might want to consider.
be aware that transfering is equally to more competetive than to be admitted as freshman.
and lastly, good luck!
