Transfer Question

I sent in my transfer app right at the deadline. I got an e-mail saying that I would hear back when my application was complete, but that was over a week ago and I still haven't heard anything. Is anyone else in the same boat? I'm really worried that I'm not going to be accepted because I got everything in so late.

Well, I’m not in the same boat but have also applied for transfer admission to Kenyon for this fall. The only thing I’ve heard from Kenyon was a letter regarding clarification on my CSS Profile.

Kenyon’s admission staff is very helpful and friendly, I’d suggest calling them Monday morning. I did this a few weeks ago when I was distraught over their conflicting application deadlines (April 1st vs. April 15th).

Out of curiosity, where are you transferring from?

Do you know if we could expect a response sooner than the May 15th date?

Well, it’s only a few more days until we can expect to hear our decisions from Kenyon. I tried to call Kenyon earlier today but received no response (they were likely out of their offices as it was just after four); does anyone know how we will be notified on Friday? Does the May 15th date mean that packets will be sent out then, we will receive emails, etc? I hope that our decisions don’t go out on the 15th and we have to wait until next week to know them. If this is the case, I imagine we can call Kenyon on Friday to get our decisions over the phone.

We called last week and they said that decisions would be mailed on Friday May 15th. I don’t think we have an electronic account to check do we?

No, Kenyon does not supply applicants with an electronic account. I called, before reading your post, and got the same answer–decisions will be mailed on the 15th. The woman I spoke with said that decisions will not be given over the phone on Friday.

Well, I received my letter from Kenyon today and I was wait-listed. I’m extremely ardent about attending Kenyon, does anyone have advice on how to pursue acceptance? I’ve thought about another letter of recommendation, are there any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Don’t flood them with letters, but send one saying you really want to attend blah blah blah, thank them for considering your application and be very polite about it all. You might also call to check in and express continued interest.
