Transfer Question

One of the girls in my Girl Scout troop asked this and I told her I would find out.

If a student opts out of taking the SAT and ACT because her schools don't require them but then two years later she transfers to a school that does require them for incoming Freshman, would she need to take them as a transfer Junior or would her college grades and transfer credits eliminate that need?

I hope someone knows the answer to this or can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it depends on the school she wants to transfer to. USC and UC system do not require/look at SAT scores after 60 units have been completed. There are schools out there that do require SAT scores and in that case, she’d need to take them.

Fr and transfer admissions requirements for testing are different and vary by school. Tell your friend to go on the websites for schools she’s interested in and read what they say.

It was a generic hypothetical question as the girls are sophomores in high school and we’re just starting the conversation. Yes, when the time comes (and it may never come) she will do the necessary research. Right now it was just a question that came out of a conversation and one I had not thought of so I thought I’d ask here.

While a generic question, I’m afraid there’s no generic answer.
