Transfer Question

Hey guys, congrats on all who got into Cornell. I am a transfer student from Villanova and was just accepted in the Arts and Sciences College.

I was wondering if anyone could give me good advice on where the best place to live would be for a transfer student? I am thinking I want a single as I had not the greatest experiences with roommates here and do not want to repeat that. Having said that I obviously still want to be able to interact with students consistently and lead a good social life.

I am just a bit nervous about coming in as a Junior and making friends and fitting in right off the bat so was hoping some of you might be able to quell my nerves and enlighten me on good methods to perhaps alleviate my stress a little. Thanks a lot.

Oh and if any other transfers are having similar feelings or know where they want to live, etc please post- it would certainly make me feel better!

Check out the Cornell transfer thread on the transfer student forum.
Lots of info there!

And…congrats on your acceptance!
Hope I’ll get my acceptance soon :P

hey LFCNY9 congrats on your admissions to CAS.
How were you notified from Cornell?

I hear that the west campus was the best place to live according to the other people on this website but i might be wrong.

CONGRATS on your acceptance!!! But seriously, you have to post your stats pronto for the rest of us who are still waiting!!! Thanks!

Congrats!!! Yay, another Cornell transfer acceptance :)

congrats! what major?
i applied for CAS also but still waiting for decision

Congrats LFCNY9! I was accepted to CALS last week as a transfer.

I’ve heard that West is the best place to live for transfers, so I applied for a single on West. I’m also a little nervous about the social aspect of getting a single, especially since I don’t plan on going greek, but i’ve talked to a few different people who all said that West is pretty social anyway (all upperclassmen and transfer students). As transfers I think we just have to put the extra effort out there, but everyone says it’s easy to find your niche at Cornell.
