Hi everyone,

I am a dual Canadian/US citizen and I just completed my freshman year at the University of Washington. I want to transfer to UBC because it is closer to home and because I grew up and have many friends in Vancouver.

My GPA right now is around a 3.25 and I would prefer to transfer into the faculty of science. I realize that the deadline for this coming year has past, so I would be applying to enter for my 3rd year of college.

I have a couple of questions:
- With my GPA would I have a chance of getting in? (I have an upward trend and I am hoping to improve it more in my 2nd year).
- At UW I was thinking of majoring in neurobiology. How does choosing a major work at UBC? I am a little confused about the “faculty” system that UBC uses.
- Would I be hurting my chances of entering a US medical school by making this transfer? (Keep in mind I am a dual US/Canadian citizen)

Thank You
