transfer questions

i had a few questions regarding transfer applications, as my brother is in that process right now.

first, does a 30 ACT in high school look better than a 30 ACT in college?

and secondly does URM status apply for transfers, as it is typically not advertised the graduating classes composition.

also, does a 0.4 GPA decrease in senior year look as if you are a slacker due to "senioritis"?

and lastly, does college courseload play a role, because a 4.0 with easy classes shouldnt be equivalent to a 4.0 with advanced classes.

thanks to all.

I suppose a 30 in HS... Did you get the same score on both sittings?

Better talk to the individual school.

Depends on where you started, I assume. But if it's above a 3.0, then I wouldn't worry too much.

Yes, courseload plays an important role. Schools will evaluate your grades in the context of the courseload you had.

Best of luck :)

anyone else???

do many colleges look at race for transfers???

i guess not.

nate,
I would assume that if a college has an interest in building a diverse student body, that it wouldn't matter to them if a student comes in as a freshmen or a transfer. That's just my opinion though, I have no data one way or the other.

Affirmative Action doesn't just help freshman year! It gives you unfair advantages for transfer admission, graduate school admission, and even in the job-world career wise!

I'm sure race factors in to a certain extent, but I think transfer admissions are a lot more numbers/essay oriented.
