Hi everyone,

I have applied to Columbia this year, but I am very likely to get rejected.

My senior and junior grades are high (90%+, Rank Top Ten), but thanks to my mediocre freshmen and sophomore grades (80%ish, Rank Not in Top Ten), my culmulative high school GPA is not so attractive. I arleady got rejected from Johns Hopkins and Duke.

Assuming that my SAT scores and extracurriculars are all right, if I get 3.85+ GPA in the first semester of my freshmen university year, would such an improvement give me a shot?

I see that Columbia places equal weight on both high school GPA and first year university GPA, so I'm worried that my university GPA would not mean anything.

I would appreciate your comments, and thanks for reading my long post :)

Thanks all!
