I do not know how to ask for recommendation letters. Please help me out.

Are you applying through the Common Application? There are specific online forms that your recommending professors would be able to access (you can give them paper forms or put in their info. to receive an invite to login in and fill them out online). Some schools will use their own forms, and some ask for the “old school” letter with the professors college letterhead.

If you don’t know your professors well then it’s always helpful to give them a copy of your resume (it can be very informal --just list your activities while at college, any noted accomplishments, GPA, major, etc.). Once you’ve asked them for their recommendation then ask them if they prefer paper copies of the forms or online version (if CA). Then give them your resume and any forms needed, with provided addressed stamped envelopes (some professors and teachers have been known to send the forms to Common Application rather than the college you are applying, so fill in the address to admissions for them). If they do use the paper copies then ask them to make copies in case you apply to more schools later (the online is the better route in my opinion bc you have it saved on Common App. all ready to go). Now if the school doesn’t use Common App., let me know which school. Schools use various methods for recommendations, so go through their own instructions for transfer admissions.

Does this answer your question? If you are just nervous about asking for their recommendations, don’t be! They are used to students asking for recommendations. It’s not a comfortable thing to ask for, but they are usually happy to do it for you (and they have been in your shoes at some point when applying for grad programs or transferring themselves). Make sure you do NOT procrastinate though. Give them enough time to get it done well. Just ask and the worst that can happen is they say they don’t have enough time…and so you find another professor.
