I recently applied to CSUN as a transfer student for Fall 2018. I have spoken with several representative in the academics department and informed them of the classes I have left to take. All of the representatives told me I was fine and everything looks up to date. However, up until today I spoke with a representative and she told me that I will automatically be denied because I have ONE math course (Stats) left to take in the summer. Since it will not be completed by Spring of 2018 I will be denied. She even told me that I can write a petition letter but that will automatically be denied as well, she even giggled as I was asking questions. According to her, CSUN use to accept student who had one class left to take in Summer but they no longer do, and haven’t done so in the past three years? Has anyone been in this situation or familiar with this? I do not want to waste a year waiting to transfer because of one class. Any information would help, thank you.
Hey @Neveae89 , yes all courses need to have been completed by the previous Spring semester before entering into Fall 2018. I don’t remember how the rules were before but now it’s required that any leftover classes you have need to be completed by Spring. They won’t accept you if you have to take a summer course. It’s what kept me from entering last Fall when I got accepted.
Stats is one of the golden four and it has to be completed by spring. They are really strict when it comes to those four classes.
Last year when i applied I had a little bit of trouble with acceptance because the stats class was in progress and the system didn’t acknowledge it.
