Hello,
I a question about the requirements for transfer, specifically the freshman level english, math, and science requirement and how heavily that is weighted in the decision. I am hoping to transfer to Clemson after 1 year at another university, and though I am still waiting for Spring grades, I am expecting between a 3.95 and 4.0 gpa between both semesters. However, I realized I wanted to transfer after the first semester, and since the career plan at my current school differs from Clemson’s, I was not able to take all of the english, math, and science courses that would apply to the career plan at Clemson (even though I tried to second semester and ended up taking 18 credits). I did my best to express this in the application, but I am not sure if it will make a difference. Basically, how important are the english, math, and science in the overall decision, and will it hurt my chances even though I have a good gpa?
PS: I am hoping to transfer for computer science if that makes a difference at all.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Good job at your current school! Very good results. It is very hard for anyone outside of admissions to know the answer to this. I would call and see if you can speak to admissions and also consider contacting the head of the CS department to express your great interest and enthusiasm for Clemson. Couldn’t hurt and will possibly help. Good luck!
