Transfer - RUE vs. traditional

It’s clear I fall within the RUE guidelines however it also appears that the RUE process is considerably more competitive than the normal transfer process. After research RUE seems to fall closer to 2-3% admission vs. 9% normal transfer. Should I just apply as a normal transfer rather than bother w/the more competitive RUE pool?

I’m a URM - 25 currently, a sophomore carrying a 4.0, played pro-soccer for a few years, and ended up in the AF reserves to pay for college

Not really sure if I will encounter any hurdles choosing to apply as a normal transfer when I appear more suited to the RUE pool.

I think if you are currently in college and a full time student, transfer is more applicable. If not, then RUE might be more appropriate. RUE is “tougher” because they are trying to assess Brown compatibility for someone whose academic credentials are harder to directly correlate to the work load/ abilities for Brown.
