Transfer Safe Schools with fin. aid.

I'm a first year student from Republic of Moldova and I would like to transfer to a school in US. which schools would you suggest for transfer with some financial aid? my total contribution for the first year would be around 5000$ plus next years i'm thinking about getting a job in US to work towards my education...

What is your major?

The only College I can think of, that offers finaid to international transfer is Grinnell.

There are no safety schools in the U.S. for internationals who require financial aid. Especially transfers.

In a related question, where in the United States can I find people who will give me a lot of money for free? Also, I am planning to work in the United States, do I tell the embassy that I am coming to study?

On a serious note, greennblue has the credited answer. There are no safety schools that would give out money right and left, especially to internationals, and especially to transfers. Many top colleges offer generous financial aid to people who need it. Harvard, Yale, Dartmouth, MIT, Amhest come to mind. But admission to those school is extemely competitive. You have to be really good or even exceptional to be admitted.

Also, you should not be planning to work. You are coming to study, not to work. If you want to work, find a U.S. employer and get H-1B visa (worker), not F-1 (student).

i’m a finance and banking major…
i’m not look to work full time… maybe some kind of on-campus job.

i’m not looking for a full-tuition scholarship, but a safe school for my situation, where i can contribute financial towards my education in such extent.

anyone else? :)

Me too. But I am planning on transferring from an American college (next year) to a better university. But becasue both of us require 100% or nearly 100% financial aid, we’re in the same boat. Try MIT - if you’re exceptional at your school. It will be need-blind to international transfers AS LONG AS you’re the only one the adcoms at MIT pick from Moldova. Seems odd but that’s how it works. Got it?
