<p>My boyfriend wants to study architecture, he isn't happy at SAIC and desperately wants to transfer to RISD. He is currently a freshman and applied for fall 2008 admission at RISD. He got into SAIC November of his senior year of high school with some kind of early decision/admission.</p>
<p>What are his chances? He's done very well at SAIC, his teachers love him and wrote great recommendations, and he thinks his portfolio is very strong.</p>
<p>Would it be more helpful to post pictures of his portfolio on here? If you need any more information please let me know.</p>

<p>You haven't gotten any responses because no one here at CC can give you any sort of realistic assessment of his chances -- and certainly not with the limited info you have provided. </p>
<p>Even with "normal" schools, posters here are just guessing about chances when they compare an individual's test scores, GPA, ECs, etc. to a specific school's student profile. When it comes to art schools -- especially the most selective ones like RISD -- the portfolio is given at least as much as, if not more, weight in the admissions decision than the academic record. And judging artistic talent is very, very subjective. Most of us here are not qualified to do so -- much less second-guess what RISD is looking for.</p>
