Hey guys I have a few questions I wanted to ask you guys regarding transfer. So basically, I am an international student who came into the US last year may. But due to the transfer credits coming, I would be a junior by spring next year…Currently my GPA is 3.24. So to my questions.
a) Is it too late find good schools to apply to for fall this year or should I focus on transferring next year spring. I know you might be wondering why i am applying so late. But the issue is I have been really ill these past months which have made me not really able to make progress with my transfer application.
b) As a foreign student, do I have a good chance of getting scholarships or maybe instate scholarships based on my current GPA. Can I still be able to find good scholarships for fall or I would have to apply for spring to get good scholarships. Plus scholarships would you advice me to look at applying for as an international student.
C) are there specific things that might improve my chances of transferring to a good school, and getting scholarships. I would really love tips from you guys. I would really appreciate it.
d) Just out of curiosity, is it generally harder to apply for admission/scholarships in spring than in fall.
Thanks for your anticipated response guys.

As an int’l transfer student there are virtually no scholarships for you at all. You may need to apply to some in your home country.
Further…Your GPA isn’t high enough for aid at the FEW schools that give need-based aid to int’l transfers.
You and your family are going to have to figure out how to pay for college on your own or thru your own country’s resources.
I hope you didn’t come to this country with the assumption that there would be aid for you to go to school. This country doesn’t have even close to enough money for our own domestic students, much less the world’s students.
You may have to finish your education in your home country.
What type of visa are you here on??

Hey guys. I wanted to find out what i need to do to improve my chances of gaining an internship. I am currently a chemical engineering major (although i am kind of undecided on that) and will be a junior this fall and my CGPA is 3.22. Also, Do i need to state my CGPA on my CV and my major because i am kinda undecided on which engineering i will stick to.I am also an international student and I kinda have little experience under my belt.I would like to find out if you guys know any companies hiring engineering students or any ones that are easier to get into and are still hiring for paid summer internships. I just basically want to know what my chances of getting an internship are based on the fact that I am a sophmore with 3.22 CGPA and also an intermational student with little relevant experiences under my belt. Thanks so much guys.

I think that you’ve been misled or you don’t understand how things work here. You wouldn’t likely be allowed to work the number of hours, or even work at all. Many/most eng’g companies will not even hire int’ls because of proprietary info concerns. Your visa may not even allow you to work at all (or not much).
I can’t imagine a company hiring an int’l student intern when there are a large number of domestic students also in need of an internship.

Instead of “focusing” on where you’re going to be transferring to, your family needs to focus on how they’re going to pay for you to go to college. Your education will be on them.
