Transfer School to Smith/Mount Holyoke/Wellesley College

Hi,
I’m a senior right now in school, and I haven’t apply for any school yet. I’m still discussing with my counselor should I go to a 4-year school or community college or apply to a 4-year college and deferral one year and then attend to that college. My GPA in high school is not very high, I have to try my best to get more than 3.1, I can’t use my GPA right now to apply for any these three colleges… So I’m thinking about I go to a public school that near by the city first and then transfer to one of this three colleges.
But I’m worry about even I do transfer later that still gonna be hard for me because of my high school GPA, so the first year of college, I have to do my best to get the highest GPA in college, also do more activities. Is that gonna be helpful? What should I do during first year in college that will help me to transfer?
I’m trying to go to UMASS Boston first, if I can’t transfer to any these three colleges, I also hope I can transfer to UMASS Amherst. Is that gonna help I transfer between UMASS system?

Also can I still take SAT, ACT & Toefl during the first year of college?

You need to ask each place that is on your transfer list whether or not they accept an ACT or SAT score taken after you finish high school.

Have you been exited from ESL classes at your high school? If you won’t exit before you graduate from high school then you should consider spending a semester (at least) in an intensive English program before starting college. You want to be certain that your English really is good enough.

If you like those three colleges, you also might like Bryn Mawr. Bryn Mawr has a special interest in transfers from community colleges. https://www.brynmawr.edu/admissions/community-college-connection

All are extremely difficult to transfer into. I wish you luck. I’m going to community college > 4 year route too.
