Transfer schools in spring?

Well I've been having some difficulty with going away to college next year... I was ready to go to Austin Community College in Texas and transfer to UT Austin after a year or so, but now things have gotten complicated and I'm thinking it may be better for me to stay in my home town for 6 months at a university for summer and fall and then transfer to ACC for spring semester and then eventually transfer to the University of Texas at Austin for fall of 08 or as soon as possible.

Would that be too much transferring? Or does it really not matter? Will their be any disadvantages to transfering during spring? I also really need to be able to maintain around a 3.6 GPA in order to transfer to UT Austin, and receive atleast 30 semester credit hours.

Oh and also, UT states "30 semester credit hours" ... does that just mean 30 credit hours or 30 per semester? http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/transfer/admission/index.html

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated... This is a difficult decision for me.

Thanks!

30 semester credit hours total - most students only take 15 credit hours per semester so it would be illogical for them to require twice that per semester (10 classes). The GPA you need from ACC will also depend on the major that you're interested in.

Thanks.....anyone else have any input?
