Transfer Season - taking questions

What’s a 3.9 from a CUNY worth in a Columbia adcom’s eyes? It seems like any successful transfers out of here come from the Macaulay honors college, which I’m not technically in, although I’m taking a couple honors seminars this semester. But I’m trying to make the best out of my situation. My h.s. stats (like a 3.5-3.6 GPA) weren’t really good enough to justify a Columbia app. I’ve turned it around, but coming from a CUNY, does it mean anything? CUNY Hunter if that matters.

aw TS hasn’t been active for a few months.

If you would like to transfer, you need to start by applying. No candidate’s application is skipped or thrown away; if you feel you have something to contribute to Columbia, tell them why you think you’re valuable, and see if they agree.

Simply put: it never hurts to try!

Thank you sir.

I admit, I’d be relieved to know if there was some precedent for the CUNY to Columbia jump.
