If I transfer from uc to uc should I wait to join a sororty to the new uc?

Joining a sorority should be your first priority.

Its really up to you but it would be cool if you can find a sorority with another chapter at another UC.

what is the point of joining a sorority....any advantages

Let's make this clear: sororities are for girls and fraternities are for guys.

Select guys should be allowed into sororities.

jrod2210-- I, myself, am not into pledging into a sorority.. something about living in a house jampacked with a lot of girls doesn't appeal to me. But, I know several friends that are part of the greek system.

The advantages that I know about are: access to lots of parties (sure most parties anyone can crash, but there are several parties where you need your name on the list to enter especially I know this is true for the greek system at UCLA--these select parties are exclusive to some sororities & fraternites, but honestly, if you are friends with someone that's in those sor. & frats they can totally get your name on the list! :)), strong social network, social support, drama (I'm pretty drama-free, but I know some girls that live for it), safe housing, friendships.

You can also add academic support--I've heard lots of frats and sororities advertise this.
