I am a pre-med and finance major, so I think all my classes are scattered around. I have a couple of housing options. Mainly on 12 and 13th street. Is this a good option?

Any other places that you recommend for me?

That is a pretty central location. It is fairly close to the med center but in the area of other classes as well. Make sure you are somewhat close to high street though. Most students live west of summit.

Are you looking at apartments? On the east side of High Street or the west? Living on south campus can be more sketchy the further east of High street you go, but living on the west by the medical buildings is considered pretty safe.

I live east of high around where you’re looking, and it takes me about 17 minutes to walk to the business classrooms, so if that is a deal-breaker to you, I suggest you look closer to the north end of campus. North of Lane, west of High can be pretty nice, and a more residential area to live in.

I recommend you check out multiple landlords, and do multiple tours before you sign a lease. Somewhere on the web you can find an OSU guide to off-campus living that includes fairly comprehensive reviews from students regarding their landlords. From personal experience, avoid Hometeam, but Oxford is very good.

The problem is that my requirements are very narrow. I need a short term sublet 1 bedroom. I really do not have my pick of apartments and I have been calling everyone. I think that the best option is to get the on 13th street.

I haven’t been able to find anything all the housing options suck. Does anyone know of a 1 bedroom available?

Ah, I didn’t see that you were transferring in for the Spring semester, and that certainly complicates your search. Have you joined the different facebook pages for class of 2013-2015? Plenty of people tend to post ads there looking for subletters.

No I haven’t but that sounds like a very good idea. Thanks I will do that.
