Transfer Student-Apartment Shopping

I'm a transfer student to UT and been apartment shopping for MONTHS, and all the negative reviews I've read online isn't making it easier. I'm thinking of leasing with The Quarters Nueces House, but I wanted some opinions before I finalize my decisions. I'm looking for a 1bd/1ba apartment with price range under $1000 and someplace near campus. I'm a girl so safety/pests are big issues. If I'm about to make the worst decision of my life please stop me before I commit.

Hi, I am a transfer student as well and had a similar situation as you. I suggest looking at regular apartments. They’re are pros and cons to regular and student apartments. The apartment I stay at is a 1/1 for $680 . If you want you can pm me and I can tell you more about it.

Look into condos and smaller apartments as opposed to the “big names” such as The Block or Quarters. You can definitely find a good sized 1 Bed/1 Bath for under $1000/month. North campus is pretty quiet while West Campus may be a little louder.

I haven’t lived in the Quarters apartments, but I have many friends who have. It was nice every time I went there, especially compared to some of the other West Campus apartments.

Rio 21! I live there. Nice and clean. Rent is about 950 a month. But you get a huge apartment. Have to share with a roommate though.

Are you still looking? We saw signs all over the place. One was for west campus orange tree for $650–don’t know what size or how long but that is a good price for orange tree.
