Transfer student chances

Sophomore at Ithaca College looking to transfer to SU... current GPA is a 2.9, but have been very involved on campus.. Will I get into the school? What are my chances of getting in to Whitman? Any chance of getting in to Newhouse? What should I really concentrate on in my application to make my chances the best they can be?

I think that you should be okay depending on the difficulty of your courses, but I did speak with the transfer coordinator and that GPA (2.9) won’t allow you to be eligible for the scholarships. I am applying as a transfer too, and I wish you luck!

What is the required GPA to be eligible for scholarships?

I don’t know if there is a required GPA, but I had a 3.1, and she said that it probably wouldn’t get me any scholarships through the school, but that doesn’t disqualify you from need-based. I, too, am in a lot of organizations that are time consuming, and I took extremely difficult courses. Maybe that will count for something? I sure hope! My advice is if you need the scholarships, start applying through other sources. That’s what I’m doing.
