Transfer Student-- EE major

Hi,

I've been accepted as a transfer student for next Fall.
Next Thursday and Friday I'll be visiting Caltech. I hope to sit in a class, talk with students, and possibly to talk with an enrollment counselor.
Do you have any other suggestions/ recommendations of things that I should do /see?

I know that it is too late for me to apply for any research opportunities in SURF, but I really would like to do something productive until September 29th (I hate sitting around). I thought to pickup a few books so I'll be able to start studying for Fall classes, but I dont know what classes I'll have to take.... Does anyone have an idea of one or two (science or math) classes that I'll have to take in the Fall semester?

Is there any Summer "activity" that I can apply to?

Thank you.

I'm not sure about your standing in terms of classes. Sophomore EEs usually take EE 40, Ph 2a (Waves and quantum mechanics), Ma 2a (ordinary differential equations), and EE 20a (analog electronics, which used to be centered around building a radio, this will change next year to being a little more theoretical), EE 40 (solid state sensors and actuators), and a humanities or social science class.

You may have to retake other parts of core as well. During the first term, Ch 1a (General chemistry), Ma 1a (Single variable calculus), and Ph 1a would be offered, if you had to take one of those courses it would most likely repace one of the classes I mentioned above.

A lot of EEs lately have been taking Phys 12 instead of Phys 2, but it's more painful that way... also a lot of us are taking ACM95 sophomore year. You also need to take or place out of the freshman year EE classes, like EE51, EE52, APh/EE 009A/B.

If you figure out what you've passed out/don't need to take I can tell you what you need to take. I'm a sophomore (soon to be junior) EE major.

If I were you, I'd just go build some random EE projects for fun over the summer. It's fun and will make sure you have the basic soldering experience / practical experience that helps with 5x and the other lab courses.

Since I dont know how many credit hours will transfer, I'll make the following assumptions-
1. All of the humanities classes are covered.
2. Most of the math requirements are covered, hopefully.

I only had one semester of chemistry, and I probably need to retake quantum mechanics.

i am a enginnering graduate (be).i am new user of this web site so can anyone help me to get to the american university.i would like to complete my master degree in mathmatics.
