Transfer student from Devry?

Hello,

I didn't do too well in High School (2.4 GPA, 1620 SAT) and I go to Devry University right now. I have about a 3.8 and 44 credits but I'm reading that it's really hard to transfer to another college from this school. What are my chances of getting into either Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, or Seton Hall University with this? And would I have to start over as a freshman?

If you want to reccomend any other colleges for me to apply to please go ahead, I'm not learning anything here it's a waste of time and money.

Thanks.

If you’re in state for NJ then I think you have a chance at all three. When are you planning to apply? Are you a freshman or sophomore now? If you apply as a sophomore for mid year transfer or going into junior year they won’t even look at hs grades/ SAT’s. You would not start over as a freshman though since you already have so many credits. The best thing you can do is keep your grades up, find a teacher you’ve connected with for recs and talk to admissions officers at the school. All of those schools are very in state friendly though so that could really help you.

Yeah I’m in NJ right now. I’m planning to apply for the Fall 2010 semester. I’m a sophomore now, so yeah they won’t be looking at High school stuff. I have 44 credits, but then again I’m hearing that most of the credits I have at Devry won’t be counted in those colleges.

It depends on what college you’re applying to. Aren’t most of the deadlines this week?
Do you mean you live in NJ? It only helps if you’re an NJ resident.

I’m a NJ resident.

Rutgers is till April 1st. Seton hall is June 1st. NJIT June 5th.

Be prepared for very few or even none of your credits to transfer, and thus starting as a freshman.

I would call their admissions departments and ask if your credits will transfer. They’re the only ones who can give you an accurate answer.
