Transfer student: If I sent my FAFSA in on March 4th

I am currently a transfer student from a California Community College. I was waiting for my Mom to finish her tax information before I sent it in. There were some important questions that we had to desern before I felt it would be appropriate to submit my FAFSA. I had to submit it 2 days late. How will this affect my awards? Many of the schools I applied to have shown me my unofficial award letter for financial aid. Also, many of the schools have given me Pell Grant award money as well as Cal Grant. What I am worried about is the timing of my application. Will I still be eligable to receive this financial aid, cal grant and pell grant?

You should be able to get any Pell grant you qualify for.

From other posts I have read I thought the calgrant deadline was march 2 and that they were pretty strict about it. But if the schools are showing it you may be ok. Best to check with them.

For future years i would recommend meeting the deadlines - you can make corrections later if needed. Better to do that than miss the deadlines and lose out on potential aid.

That is true.

I will probably have to call them either tonight or tomorrow.

sounds like it depends on whether there are funds still available after the deadline.
