Transfer Student: In Need of Some Advice

Hi everyone,

I am planning on transferring to Rutgers NB in the Spring, and have NO idea where to live. I would preferably like to live off campus because it seems like there aren't too many apartment style dorms. So I am asking those people that live Rutgers NB everyday- where should I live?

Thanks in advance :)

I might not be answering your question-but just wanted to let you know I’m on the same page, I’m also a transfer student. I herd from Rutgers NB students, that Rockoff hall is the best place to live (for upperclassmen only). Good luck.

Do you want to live in an apartment operated by Rutgers, or do you want to rent an apartment off campus? Technically Rockoff and Easton ave apts are off campus (although they’re considered college ave, I think) but they are through Rutgers housing.

However, if you want to live in an apt off campus completely not affiliated with Rutgers, try this website: [Rutgers University Off-Campus Housing Service](http://ruoffcampus.rutgers.edu/). Also, I know a couple people who lived in Birchwood terrace on hamilton st who seemed to like it (however, it’s a bit of a walk to college ave!). You will pay a LOT less living off campus- I think rockoff is something like $4,000 / semester. I think $500/month is pretty average for off campus, depending on what kind of room you want.

Hope that helps!
