Hi, I am currently a student at ELAC (East Los Angeles College). I am planning to apply for transfer to the UCR Business Administration program after I have completed my pre-requesites. My gpa is currently only 3.0 and I have a few C's and D's on my transcript, but they are all from science courses. What are my chances of getting in?

you're in.
try for ucsb - biz-econ and uci - econ as well.

What would be my chances for the UCI Bus & Econ major? And also, what about students that have over 90 quarter credits? Because I have way more then 90.

They'll still take you if you have more than 90 units, but you have to complete a certain amount of units at UCR if you want to get your degree from there, so they might not transfer all of your quarter units.

As for UCSB and UCI's business programs (or lack thereof), you'd most probably get in to those also. I would still go with UCR just because you'll get a degree in Business Administration instead of one in Economics with emphasis in business. Basically, UCR's business program is the better out of those three schools.

hell no go to ucsb or uci

therevenge,
I am really enjoying reading your posted msgs.
My daughter has been accepted as in
UCSB, UCI, UCSD, UCD, UCSC and UCR, and still waiting for UCB. She gets in
UCR business with a schelorship. We are
in debating which school to go. Since only two UC
has business school(UCR, UCB). She is a well around student with only weak grad in calc.
I know that you were in UCR business, can you give us some insight about UCR's business? how it compares with these other UCs.

I would actually support going to UCR because their degree is actually based in Business Administration. UCSB and UCI only deal with the economics of it, or the theories, leading to an academic career in business economics, not an actual business world ready person. I know, I tried BusEcon at UCSB, but flunked out because of the theory. Had I known about UCR’s major, I would’ve gone there!

Plus, it’s a very unique major which makes you stand out when you’re ready to go on to business graduate school to get your MBA… :-)
