I have applied as a transfer student for fall 05, and did not get my result yet.
Then I called the admission office: They told me that they were still processing to make decision!

It sounds no hope.

Am I alone?

You are not alone:-(

I thought they said we would find out by June 30th? I guess those who got in already heard and those who didn't get in will hear eventually.

I'm a transfer applicant, and I'm still waiting too. I don't think it's necessarily the case that we're going to be rejected just because we haven't heard anything yet. I looked through the College Confidential archives from 2004, and there were USC acceptance letters going out as late as July 9th last year.

I do think that USC's admissions process is totally unacceptable. The fact that they are making some of us wait until the middle of July to find out if we have gotten in, compounded with the fact that no one in the Admission Office has anything more to tell us than "no decision has been made" and to keep pushing back the estimate for when a decision may possibly be made, betrays their complete lack of respect for us. It's just unfair to make an applicant wait until July only to reject that applicant, which will surely happen to some of us.

No word yet for me either.

Yeah, the admissions at USC are total garbage. I'm sick of dealing with them, that's for sure. I'm in a situation where I needed to know ages ago so I could decide which state I'm moving to. I chose another school over USC simply based on my experience with the admissions (don't care what USC says at this point). I've explained my situation (military, to be specific) to four or five people over the phone only to be rudely and abruptly cut off with the standard "no decision has been made yet."

Where's my friggin customer evaluation form? lol

Thank you for your replying.

Actually, I got a packet today from USC on 7/9.
I am considering should I enroll or not because of USC's admissions process.

I hope everybody got the packet.

Man they need to HURRY THE FCK UP and make a decision already on my app.

momony, what are your stats (GPA, ECs, and major)?

I have graduated a community college as a general study major.
Then I am admitted as a Sophomore.

GPA: 3.85
ECs: Vice-president of some club in a college, half year Volunteer experience
Major is Gerontology.
I wonder why I got in USC because I just finished 2 courses of Additional Course Work Requirments out of 6 requierments. I expected would be rejected...

I'm out of town for a few days, and so I couldn't check my mail.. I believe USC sends decisions only by snail mail.. When I checked online for my Financial Aid, they've requested some more documents.. They sent a letter regarding it on 7/6 to my home address in IL.. Does this mean that I got in? Do the FA docs come along with the admission package?

Do they tell you their decision over the phone?

I enrolled into U of I at U/C for ChemE to secure my admission for Fall '05.. I'd change to USC if I got in.. USC rocks.. :) :)

I just called the Admissions office and found out that I got in.. They sent out a letter on the 30th.. I'd be heading there this fall..

What about Transfer student Orientation? Does anyone have an idea when it is?

:) :)

Btw, my stats are:

Community College - City Colleges of Chicago (Wright)..
1 year - 9 courses - 4.0 GPA
Excellent Recos, Decent Essays, Average EC's, Won essay competition at Wright..
SAT 1290
TOEFL 263
HS GPA 3.5 -- Int'l HS..
Avg. HS EC's..
Transferring as a Sophomore..

I'm a student at UC Riverside and am still waiting to hear from USC regarding my transfer app. They asked for my spring quarter grades and I know that UCR sent them in a bit late (almost near June 30th), so I assume that's why I'm having to wait so long. Are there any other UC to USC transfer hopefuls who haven't heard anything yet?

My stats are alright, I guess. USC only has my freshman year at UCR to look at and I have a 3.5 cummulative GPA, which is not bad for a UC student. I've got some OK extra curriculars, but on my essay I strongly emphasized my academic achievements in college and how much I improved considering my high school years. I am also on the dean's list (which is reported on my transcript).

I also took almost every single possible GE requirment (just science I didn't do), and did great in those classes (nothing less than a B+, most are A's). I also happened to apply undeclared because I feared I wouldn't get into Marshall since it's competitive.

I met with an admission counselors last year over the summer and they said since I'm going to a UC, if I get a 3.4 cummulative GPA I'm almost guaranteed to get in (they didn't say guaranteed for sure, obviously because they can't) and there is the fact that I'm a legacy student, which I don't know if that will help me out at all. Overall I'd say I have a decent shot...but I expect to get rejected.

Anyway, I was just wondering if any of you guys were applying for transfer from a UC and have or have not heard from USC yet?

Wow at last they had made a decision, but i've still got to wait around cause they won't tell me if I got in or not over the phone. Bunch of stifflers man...

Yeah, I'm thinking about calling them tomorrow and asking them what's up.

Definitely call to check up, I didn't find out on the phone but I know a few people who did. Be persistent, it can't hurt.

If they say they have a decision and won't tell you on the phone I think it is a sign that you did not get in. I have never heard of them telling a rejection via the phone; however, I have heard many stories of those being told of acceptance via the phone (myself included).

ugh, now I don't want to call for fear of a rejection. haha.

Why wouldn't they tell someone that they got rejected? When I heard that they can't tell me over the phone, I just said to myself what a bunch of bullshi.t this is.

magic stick, did they tell you when they sent out notifications of admission in the mail?

Yeah the person told me they sent it out in the mail today. Should get something latter on the week.

Man I called up yesterday and I got an answer when once the mail is out they will tell me over the phone if I get in or not. And called in the afternoon and got a different answer. Man...*** is going on.
