Transfer student, waiting for admission decision

man, it sounds like they're giving you the run around. I hate it when people do that. I mean, I go to a UC so their not so great at giving you information over the phone or even in person. But USC is a private school, so I kinda expected better from them.

i just want to get this done and over with, just gonna keep on callin em till they tell me. fck this waiting around, i've been waiting long enough ya know?

If my friend get into business with a 3.4 and is taking a preq over the summer, i for sure know i can get in, that along anyone. this is hilarious.

I know what you mean. I've got to make payments on my apartment here at UCR by monday or else I have no place to stay at my current school. But my spring quarter grades didn't reach USC until close to June 30th (which was the deadline for me to submit them), so I understand why its taking them so long.

You probably had your spring semester grades in back in May, so I have no idea why you're still waiting around for an answer.

Yeah man. Actually I sent my official in June, mid June i think. Hit em up tommorow and ask em whats going on.

Ey way2college you called SC up and they told you that you got in eh? Whatcha say to em? Did they flat out gave you the answer that you got in? When I reread this thread and saw that they told you that you got in, I'm becoming even more pis.sed off by the minute.

Do you think they allow appeals for transfer apps? I think I might appeal if I do end up on the rejection end.

If it's something you truly want, then I would exhaust every opportunity available.

yes they allow appeals my friend just got in after appealing!

that's awesome news. congrats to your friend. i actually wrote up about 1 single-spaced page last night as an appeal. hopefully, i won't have to send that appeal letter in. thanks for the help guys... i appreciate it.

YEAH~!! I gave em another call and I got in~!! w00t w00t!!!

nice job man. i'm gonna call them later today, possibly...if time allows. Otherwise I'll call on Friday for sure. but hey, congrats and it looks like those people were wrong about them saying "if they can't tell you your admissions status over the phone you've probably been rejected."

Yep~ Don't trust what other people say. Call for yourself and see what happens.

I didn't have time to call today. I'll for sure call tomorrow. hey, magic stick what where your stats and what major did you apply for?

I have sent my spring grades on June 26th. This week, I keep calling the admission to see whether I am in or not. But, they just say that they haven't got any decision. o... It's hard to wait.... how many days do I need to wait? I worry about it so much~

gpa=3.78 (got a 4.0 in the spring semester)
Major= business administration
Transfering from a local community college.

I was in the same boat like you lcmlovegod and when I say I know how you feel, I mean it. Got my answer today and it feels like an 800 lb guerrilla is off my back. The only thing you can do is keep calling day after day after day till they tell you they made the decision. And if they say they can't tell you over the phone, they are full of shi.t. Just keep calling. That's the only sound advice I can give.

magic stick, thx for your support~ ^ ^
how many days have you waited?

No prob. Let's see.......I don't really have an exact number but more than a month I've been waitin around. When people were getting acceptance letters in may and june I was getting mad as he.ll. Now I have to wait for the acceptance letter and this waiting will finally come to an end.

the admission keeps saying that they will have decision this month... but... I have already waited for 3 weeks.... I really want to know how long do they take to have decision?

If you don't get a decision soon, you might miss next week's orientation (which is thursday I think). So if you think about it, they don't want us to miss out in this orientation so your decision has to come out soon. I would expect something in the mail next week for you, but call and see if you got in or not.

If I cannot go to the orientation next week, I think I will go to the one which is August 15 through Friday, August 19. June 23 will be the last orientation~

I read someplace that if any of us is admitted after the last scheduled transfer orientation that an individual orientation will be set up for us.

I've heard that the last few years some people had to wait until August -- in some cases 2 or 3 days before classes began -- for an admission decision. So, just because we are waiting doesn't mean that we haven't gotten in. If anything, it seems the longer we wait for a decision the greater our chances of getting in. USC is refraining from simply rejecting us for some reason.

And it will be a pretty cra.ppy thing for them to do if they make us wait until the end of July or August and then reject us.
